Granola

3/4 cup brown sugar (can be partially replaced with maple syrup)
1 stick unsalted butter
3T coconut oil
1T vanilla
1 T cinnamon
1 T nutmeg
1 1/2 t salt

2 quart of quick oats (not instant)

2 c sliced almonds, chopped walnuts
2Tsesame seeds

1 1/2 c dried fruit (currants, raisins, dried cranberries, chia or whatever you like)

  1. Melt butter, coconut oil, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.  Stir and watch carefully to make sure it doesn’t burn. Approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Mix oats, nuts, sesame seeds with the sugar mixture.
  3. Bake at 300F degrees. Mix every 20 minutes. Cook for 60 minutes until the mixture takes on a toasted color.
  4. Remove from oven and mix in dried fruits.
